Butte splits with Lassen

Game 1: Butte 5 @ Lassen 6

Butte opened the series with a tough 6-5 loss on the road against Lassen, despite a late-game rally. The Roadrunners got on the board early after Carter Imbach and Luke Zuromski singled in the first, and Trent Van Nuys delivered a two-out RBI to score Imbach. Lassen responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning and added single runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 5-1 lead.

Butte mounted a comeback in the eighth. Grant Sonke led off with a single and Imbach followed with a double to put runners in scoring position. Zuromski drove in a run with a single, and Jason Olsen followed with another RBI hit. Later in the inning, Jadenn Thomson came through with a clutch two-run single to tie the game at 5. However, in the bottom of the ninth, Lassen pushed across the winning run to walk it off and take the opener.

Game 2: Lassen 1 @ Butte 2

The Roadrunners bounced back in game two, edging Lassen 2-1 to split the series. Butte wasted no time, scoring in the first inning after Grant Sonke singled, advanced on a wild pitch, and was moved to third on a bunt by Imbach. Zuromski came through with an RBI single to give Butte the early lead.

In the third, Aiden Santos singled to start the inning and was moved over by a Drew Carrington sacrifice bunt. With two outs, Imbach delivered an RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0. On the mound, Jordan Riley gave Butte four solid innings before handing the ball to Jacob Cullen, who held Lassen to one run over the next four frames. Gino Marble shut the door in the ninth to earn the save and secure the win.
