Roadrunners Volleyball: Splits the Week, Shines for a Cause
The Butte College Volleyball team saw a mix of results this past week, battling a tough road match before finding success and hosting a meaningful event back home.
Road Trip Challenge: At Lassen College
On Wednesday, October 15th, the Roadrunners traveled to Susanville for a conference matchup against the Lassen College Cougars.

Despite a gritty effort that saw Butte fight back to take the third set and extend the match, the Cougars ultimately took the win. The Roadrunners demonstrated resilience, but fell short in the decisive fourth set.
Home Victory & Awareness Night: Vs. Siskiyous
The team returned home on Friday, October 17th, to host the College of the Siskiyous Eagles—a night dedicated to a cause greater than volleyball: Breast Cancer Awareness Night!

The energy in the gym was electric, fueled by the team's purpose. The Roadrunners looked sharp from the first serve, with the offense firing on all cylinders to take the first two sets 25-20. The Eagles pushed back in a nail-biting third set, but Butte held strong, closing out the set and the match with a crucial 26-24 finish.
��️ Pink Out Power
The night was a huge success off the court as well. The entire Butte College team stood united in the fight against breast cancer, showing their support by sporting pink warm-up shirts, socks, and hair ribbons. It was a powerful visual reminder of the ongoing need to raise awareness in finding a cure, honoring those who have battled the disease and celebrating the strong women in the community.
The Roadrunners showed heart and determination on the court while making a difference in the community. They will look to carry the momentum from their sweep into their next contest!
