Butte sweeps Siskiyous in weekend series

Feb. 26–27, 2026 | Oroville, CA

Game 1 – Feb. 26, 2026

Butte College 15, College of the Siskiyous 2

Butte College exploded early and never looked back in a dominant 15-2 victory over the Eagles on Wednesday in Oroville.

The Roadrunners ignited the offense in the bottom of the first inning with two outs. Tyler Porter was hit by a pitch to spark the rally, and Ryan Pimentel followed with an RBI double to put Butte on the board. A defensive miscue by Siskiyous brought home another run before Jack Howsley delivered the big blow — a two-run home run — to cap a four-run opening frame.

 Howsley wasn't done.

After a Jacob Klapper single in the third inning, Howsley launched his second home run of the day, extending the Roadrunners' lead and setting the tone for the afternoon.

Butte continued to apply pressure in the fourth. Collin Severson reached on a bunt single and promptly stole second. Lucas Owens advanced the runner before Porter executed a productive at-bat to drive in a run. Klapper followed with an RBI double to complete a three-run inning.

The fifth inning put the game out of reach. Jack Selfridge singled, Brady Alves reached on an error, and Severson's base hit loaded the bases. Owens drew a walk to force in a run, Porter doubled home two more, and Klapper added a sacrifice fly. Another Eagles error plated the final run of the five-run frame as Butte pushed its advantage to 15-2.

The Roadrunners added one final run in the seventh. Kolbey Stolpe walked and was pinch-run for by Jaydon Loose. After another walk and an error loaded the bases, Kinser Day lifted a sacrifice fly to score Loose and close the scoring.

On the mound, Nate Simonton was outstanding. The right-hander tossed a complete-game nine innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits without issuing a walk while striking out seven Eagles.

Game 2 – Feb. 27, 2026

Butte College 7, College of the Siskiyous 3

Butte carried its momentum into Thursday's finale, completing the two-game sweep with a 7-3 win.

The Roadrunners struck first again in the second inning. Klapper worked a one-out walk, and an Eagles error put runners on second and third. Stolpe delivered a clutch single to score both and give Butte an early 2-0 lead.

Butte added single runs in both the third and fourth innings, highlighted by Howsley's third home run of the series to extend the lead to 4-0. Brady Alves added a solo home run in the sixth, and Howsley continued his big week with an RBI single in the seventh. In the eighth, Porter singled home Cole Davis for the Roadrunners' final run of the series.

Brayden Bruno set the tone on the mound in Game 2, throwing five shutout innings with five strikeouts. Nathan Brown, the third Butte pitcher of the day, closed out the final 2 2/3 innings to secure the sweep.
